How Prices Are Displayed
Prices shown on this website and in quotes are exclusive of applicable taxes unless explicitly stated otherwise. The final price including all taxes and fees will be itemised clearly in your order confirmation before payment is required. You will not be charged more than the amount confirmed in writing.
Harmonized Sales Tax (HST)
All orders are subject to Ontario Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) at the current rate of 13%. HST is calculated on the pre-tax product price and any applicable delivery fees, and is displayed as a separate line item at checkout and in your order confirmation. JST collects and remits HST in compliance with Excise Tax Act requirements.
What's Included in Our Pricing
Our quoted prices typically include the following components, which will be itemised in your confirmation:
- Product cost — the producer's price for the wine or spirit, converted to CAD at the prevailing exchange rate at the time of order
- Import & logistics costs — freight, customs brokerage, and clearance fees where applicable
- JST service fee — JST's fee for sourcing, arranging importation, and managing delivery on your behalf
- Delivery fee — carrier costs to your Ontario address (see Shipping & Delivery Policy)
Levies & Regulatory Fees
Depending on the structure of your import authorization and the products ordered, additional levies or deposits may apply — for example, container deposit fees or environmental handling fees as required by Ontario regulations. Where applicable, these will be disclosed and itemised in your order confirmation before payment. JST does not retain these amounts; they are passed through to the relevant regulatory body.
Currency & Exchange Rate
Where products are priced in a foreign currency (EUR, USD, GBP, or other), JST converts to Canadian dollars using the prevailing mid-market exchange rate at the time of order, plus a small conversion margin that will be disclosed in your quote. Exchange rate fluctuations between quote and final confirmation may affect the final CAD price; JST will notify you of any material change before charging your payment method.
Price Changes
Prices on this website are indicative and may change without notice prior to an order being confirmed. Once a written order confirmation has been issued, the price is fixed except in the case of a pricing error (see our Terms & Conditions) or a material change in the applicable levy or tax rate.
